Operator-in-training program

Operator TrainingVeolia Water Milwaukee’s Operator-in-Training (OIT) program is designed to provide qualified applicants with hands-on experience as wastewater operators in preparation for becoming a career professional wastewater operator.

The OIT program is conducted in cooperation with the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership (WRTP) and Milwaukee Area Technical College. The first phase of the program provides the information and skills training that are required to pass the general Wastewater Operator licensing exam administered through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR). The second phase of the program consists of paid, on-site training during which the trainee shadows professional wastewater operators at Jones Island and South Shore water reclamation facilities.

OIT classes will be offered as the demand for wastewater professionals increases. Contact our training partner, WRTP, at www.wrtp.org to be notified of the next OIT class.
