Essay Winners

Students Hannah Ramion, TJ Novotny, and Ben Kostmatka pose with their First Place award in the “Future City Essay Contest” sponsored by Veolia Water Milwaukee. The winning entry provided a creative - and well articulated - solution to the challenge of designing a closed-loop residential water system.

Veolia Water Milwaukee’s partnership with MMSD is just the beginning of our work in Milwaukee. We are serious about our responsibility as an active community partner. As a world leader in water resources, we can significantly raise local public awareness about the amazing resource at our community’s doorstep – Lake Michigan.

“Novus Aequora today is a plan for tomorrow. Fresh, drinkable water for our growing world population requires continuous research, design and testing. Noveus Aequora forms a vision for our future that challenges engineers to attend to municipal infrastructures that provide solutions for the conservation and recycling of a most precious resource.” — from "Novus Aequora" the first place winner in the Future City Essay Contest.

As water professionals, we couldn’t say it any better ourselves!
